The Male Rhinoplasty Procedure

Although the rhinoplasty procedure for men is often thought of as strictly aesthetic, often times breathing is improved through the overall reshaping and restructuring of the cartilage, nostrils and bridge of the nose.

Usually the male rhinoplasty procedure takes approximately one to three hours and uses the open rhinoplasty technique. The surgeon lifts the skin away from the cartilage and bone underneath so that the nose can be properly sculpted. When the surgery is complete, the skin is re-draped over its new structure to initiate healing.

Usually the nose is given a splint and nasal packing to hold the newly sculpted structure in its new place. After just a few days, the nasal packing is removed and within about two weeks the splint comes off.
